MEMBERS and friends of Liskeard's Town Team, which is working to help regenerate the town centre, recently rolled up their sleeves and – with scrubbing brushes and buckets at the ready – set about some spring cleaning.

Led by chairman of the town forum Mike Gregory, the team, which also included deputy mayor Lori Reid, cllr Roger Holmes, traders and residents, gave the direction signs and street furniture on The Parade a good clean, and also the main 'Welcome To Liskeard' signs on the main routes into the town.

'At the town forum we have been listening to what the traders have been saying and one of the things that came up was that the town's signage could do with some sprucing up,' said Mike. 'We had a good morning doing something positive for the town, and I feel that I have never known Liskeard pulling together so much as it is now. People genuinely want to make a difference and are willing to help.'
