The Green and Blacks were in awesome mood as they brought the new Cornwall Senior Cup holders back down to earth with an almighty bump and reaffirmed their desire for a record-breaking fifth successive league title. Dale Band began the rout when he dispossessed a Clarets defender on the edge of the visitor's area before slotting a clinical finish between keeper Paul Hider's legs. Steve Ovens then took advantage of Darren Holsey's mis-directed clearance to fire low into the corner of Hider's goal before Glynn Hooper ended his barren spell with a cheeky back-heeled goal from eight yards after a Glenn Duff cross. Ovens grabbed his second of the game four minutes after the break, with a simple tap-in after Adrian Street had headed on Ian Gosling's cross. Dan Bulley, a second-half substitute for Hooper, met John Hodge's corner with a powerful header to make it 5-0 after 68 minutes. The mercurial Hodge cut in from the left to set up substitute Lewis Reed to send a looping header over Hider from 12 yards to complete the scoring 12 minutes from time.
