26 fish were registered in January - 23 from the shore and three from the boat.

Both fish of the month fell to Andrew Drysdale for his new club record shore-caught silver eel and a boated pollack of 10-lb.

Also among the ubiquitous LSDs and whiting were a brace of mullet of the thick-lipped variety and a seasonal spate of flounder caught during the recent shore angler of the year competition.

At the annual meeting Gerald Radford was unanimously re-elected treasurer. To cut costs the newsletter will now be circulated bimonthly and tackle vouchers will be abandoned also as a result of costs. Quorum for meetings will reduced from nine to five. Affilations for 2001 will be to NFSA and CFSA only.

At the February meeting it was decided that the trophy for the greatest number of species caught during the year will, from now on, be awarded to the captor of the greatest numberof species over 75% of the specimen weight (from boat and shore).
