ARMISTICE Day was observed with a two minutes silence at Looe Community School during morning assembly yesterday. The Mayor, Cllr Ron Overd, who is also chairman of the Looe branch of the Royal British Legion, addressed students. A short service to commemorate the ceasing of hostilities on the 11th hour of the 11th day in the 11th month was also held at the war memorial in the town. The Remembrance Service will take place at the memorial at 10.30am on Sunday, the parade leaving the Rose Garden by the Guildhall at 10.15am.
