LISKEARD in Bloom’s team of volunteers has been even busier than normal tending and watering as an important day approaches.

Judges for the South West in Bloom contest will be in the town on Wednesday (July 17) and everyone is encouraged to help Liskeard look its best.

Certificates from previous years have gone on display at the museum, and Liskeard in Bloom is aiming to achieve at a higher level within the competition this time round.

‘The judges arrive at 10am for their tour,’ said John Hesketh of Liskeard in Bloom.

‘We would like to encourage businesses to sweep up outside their shops and residents to pick up any bits of litter lying around.’
