Odd socks were the norm as National Citizenship Service young people teamed up to raise awareness of homelessness.

The teenagers, from Cornwall, were wearing the odd socks in Liskeard.

The youngsters, having got to know each other through residential stays and adventure sports, are taking part in voluntary work.

Socktober – an appeal to help homeless people – was the cause chosen by the group last week.

The team talked to passers-by about the work St Petroc’s Society does in Cornwall, said Duchy College student Nathan Kerswell, 16.
