St Minver........................................0
Gunnislake....................................3
Gunnislake claimed a fantastic three points with this hard earned Division One victory against the current league leaders. With 12 games still to play this result leaves Gunnislake 14 points behind St Minver, the Saints having only two fixtures left.
In the continued absence of regular keeper Andy Underwood, Kevin Maybe went in goal allowing Mark Southcott to return to his defensive duties.
With the slope and a strong wind in their favour the home side made most of the running in the opening 45 minutes. However, they only really threatened on one occasion to open the scoring when an impressive effort struck the post.
In fact it was Gunnislake who had the lead at half time. Lee Underwood challenged well for a Joe Pulley free-kick and the ball fell to Steve Gaggini who calmly slotted home.
The second half was end to end with both teams creating and missing a couple of opportunities until shortly before full time the visitors struck twice.
Firstly, Andy Wakem, James Millidge and Underwood got the ball to Gaggini and the midfielder again finished coolly. Within minutes an Andy Southcott free kick rattled the cross bar, Millidge heading home the rebound.
St Dennis..........................................3
Gunnislake....................................1
AFTER a long lay off this third fixture in five days on their travels proved too much for a depleted Gunnislake side.
Midway through the first half Andy Wakem found Lee Underwood who levelled matters following a tenth minute St Dennis goal.
Further goals just either side of the turn around were enough for the ho;me side to claim victory. However, Gunnislake characteristically never gave in applying much pressure. Dave Tout's 25 yard free-kick that struck the post being the closest the visitors came to getting back in to the match.

ST COLUMB MINOR........................3
DOBWALLS........................................4
THE Lantoom side visited their Newquay based rivals with a number of regulars missing notably 'keeper Karl Roberts who had to pull out at the last minute to take his wife Sharon to hospital. The couple were expecting their first child to be born at the end of May but the little one had other ideas and was born shortly after lunch on Saturday. The proud father rang general manager John Dunn to relay the good news on Sunday morning. Their son will be called Jordan and all wish the family the best for the future.
Team manager Dave Skews deputised and made a rare appearance whilst Stewart Dunn made his first appearance for a year.
After a frantic opening 10 minutes Dunn opened the scoring for Dobwalls with a tap-in.
The second half started at a furious pace with Dunn scoring his second. Following a breathtaking save from Skews St Columb reduced the deficit. But their joy was shortlived as Dunn completed his hat-trick with the best goal of the game. After good support play by Robin Cole and Martin Polatch, Dunn eluded a defender and unleashed a sht from outside the penalty area which found the net.
Back came St Columb with a goal only for Robin Cole to restore Dobwalls two-goal cushion with a well taken goal. With a substitute netting Siants third the last 10 minutes were tense but Dobwalls held out to keep up their challenge for runners-up spot.
Young Alex Lindsay had a superb game at the back. Martin Jordan marshalled the defence superbly although the man of the match went to Stewart Dunn for a work working performance not to mention his hat-trick.
Mevagissey....................................0
Lanreath........................................0
DESPITE the score line this was an entertaining game with chances at both ends.
Lanreath started the better and pushed the ball around well but on a bumpy pitch found it hard to find the final ball. Nicky Collins came the closest playing up front because of the unavailability of their forwards, with two shots just over the bar. Mevagissey slowly got into the game and with fifteen minutes left of the first half got their real attack but their forward missed the ball which then fell kindly to Russell Hale. The rest of the half was mainly Mevagisseys but they never really had any clear chances.
With the wind behind them which picked up at half time, Mevagissey did all the attacking but settled for long shots which Lanreath dealt with easily. With twenty minutes of the second half, Jim Moynan had a shot towards the top corner but the Mevagissey keeper just got his hand to the ball to make an outstanding save. Five minutes later Moynan Brock free from midfield and had a one on one with the keeper who again made a good save.
Mevagissey had the best of the last ten minutes with two real chances but couldn't put the ball in the net with the Lanreath defence stretched after not clearing their lines quick enough.
Newmoor.........................................4
Dobwalls........................................4
IT was never going to be easy to play football on a pitch that resembled a ploughed field in places.
The home side had the right idea as they punted ball over to the top for their forwards to chase on to on a regular basis to effectively rule out the midfield players. After five minutes a catalogue of errors by the Dobwalls defence gifted the home side the lead with an easy tap in.
Johnny Niblett levelled after twenty five minutes but another mishap at the back saw Newmoor go ahead once more. They extended their lead just before the break, but were pegged back when skipper Robin Cole reduced the arrears on the stroke of half time. Newmoor again extended their lead just after the restart and looked good for the three points.
The introduction of Stewart Dunn and Martin Polatch gave the visitors extra options and when Dunn was upended in the box, Johnny Niblett scored from the spot kick. A minute later Polatch levelled. The last ten minutes it was Dobwalls who laid siege to the home penalty area. Just before the end youngster Alex Lindsay had a golden opportunity to clinch it for Dobwalls but his shot was just wide.
The man of the match award went to Johnny Niblett for a skilful display in atrocious conditions. The pitch was the worst that any of the visitors had ever played on in a league fixture.

Division Four (East)
Valuable points
Polperro Reserves...................3
Altarnun Reserves..................2
FOR the majority of the first half, Polperro could have been forgiven for thinking that it wasn't going to be their day, as shot after shot went narrowly wide or was saved by the keeper.
However, the home side didn't panic and were rewarded after 35 minutes when Matt King's backheel found Aaron Spry in space and he beat the keeper with a well placed shot. Polperro's dominance continued through to the break, and they were rewarded with another goal, courtesy of Rob Bilsborough's brilliant volley.
The home side knew they would be in for a second half onslaught from Altarnun, who made use of the wind and slope to keep Polperro on the back foot. Altarnun pulled a goal back just after the break when the home defence were left outnumbered and keeper Shane Eastley was left with no chance. In truth, the visitors were probably lucky to have eleven players on the pitch at this stage, thanks mainly to some lenient refereeing in response to some poor challenges.
It was following another Altarnun booking that Matt Pengelly's quick free-kick found Jon Pengelly in enough space to lob the advancing keeper and restore the two goal cushion. Polperro were glad of this though, when a a late defensive error gave Altarnun a goal, to ensure a tense last 10 minutes. However, the home defence and midfield held firm, and ensured a valuable three points from a poor performance by their high standards. Man of the Match: Jamie Rich.
