Two friends are ‘going sober for October’ to give a boost to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Nigel La Lau and his friend Brian say they will still be visiting their ‘regular haunts’ in the local area, but that they’ll be supping from a pint of orange juice while encouraging as many people as possible to support their worthy cause.

‘We’ve already had pledges for £450,’ said Nigel, who lives in Downderry.
