In the last week of league skittles all Division One results are in (thank you captains!) showing Bulldogs in the runner-up position and along with Hits and Misses will receive trophies on Presentation Night.

Finishing in third position are the Hotshots who in their last league game secured a 4-2 point win at Pensilva over the Rebels.

At Callington Social Club Archie Moores' team of eight looked set for a maximum victory over the Misfits who produced a high second half score of 295 pins coming away 2-4 point victors to deprive Callington of that third spot.

Londoners finish in sixth place as on their visit to the league champions - Hits and Misses - they did not produce their usual high pin fall allowing the champions to complete their fixtures with a maximum win.

In the final game of the week at Dobsons. Cast-Offs entertained Edwardians and although nothing at stake ended up with the visitors winning both halves, taking all six points. The two teams relegated to division two next season will be Cast-Offs at Barley Oats.

Division One - Who will join the Terriers in division one next season is still undecided as two outstanding game result sheets have not been received, thus causing suspense for the Crickets, as with their 73 point total they await the outcome of the Marketeers versus Ditchers final game.

In the four games that were played the Burley Booties beat the Crickets 6-0 and the Terriers beat the Legionaires 4-2 as reported last week. The Marquees ended on a high securing all six points quite easily in their final game versus the Seccombes at Duloe and are currently holding third spot. The Marketeers travelled to Millendreath, but got the better of the Sandpipers, winning both halves and add six points to their total. Relegated back down to division three next season are the Seccombes and Legionaires.

Division Three - Four x 4's Champions - Hobos runners-up

All games have been played, all result sheets are in - thank you captains! The Four x 4's made sure of this division three title and a chance to show their skills in division two next season as they completed their fixtures with a convincing 61 pin majority over the Foxes at Treburley. Joining them next season are Hobos, who had made sure of runner-up spot the previous week. Settling for third place are Madhatters who also got the better of both halves collecting six points at Lanreath in their final game versus Rally. Finishing in fourth place are Hilltops who on their home alley at Pensilva easily got the better of Clementines, who were only able to form a team of seven. A low scoring game at the SWEB Club at Bodmin saw Nomads receive Demons ending in a maximum victory for the home side to finish in a comfortable mid-place in the table. A local derby at Treburley Social Club saw the Tri-Ards meet the Growlers and although they did try hard the Growlers ended the evening victors with six points, but did not prevent them from being relegated with the Clementines to division four next season.

Division Four - Flyers get promotion

Good to see two new teams to the skittle league gaining promotion from Division Four and will show their skills in division three next September.

As reported last week Millers, captained by Ken Couchman, are the champions and joining them will be the Flyers led by Ivor Whale. The Millers got off to a good start in their final game versus the Thrashers at Barley Sheaf, but in a thrilling finish the home side rescued the remaining four points with a one pin total majority.

The Flyers made sure of their promotion when they faced alley mates Ramblers in their last game and did the double taking all six points at the Church House Inn. The Circles blew their chance of promotion when on their home alley at Dobsons found their opponents the Socialites in a better scoring mood, taking all six points to settle for fourth place.

The Linedancers played their final game at the British Legion, but found their opponents the Breakaways just nine pins the better team to deprive them of any points. Paul England's 90 pins played a major part in the visitors victory.

Victorians led by 33 pins at half-time at Roche over the Bilge Rats, who showed an improvement and rescued two points, but sadly hold up the rest of the teams.

Results - Thrashers 503 pins (252 + 251) 4 pts - Dave Coles, 72 pins. Millers 502 pins (262 + 240) 2 pts - Ken Couchman, 70 pins.

Ramblers 466 pins (222 + 244) 0 pts - Tim Spencer, 68 pins. Flyers 483 pins (237 + 246) 6 pts - Peter Bickle, 74 pins.

Circles 458 pins (225 + 233) 0 pts - Vernon Putt, 76 pins. Socialites 486 pins (227+ 259) 6 pts - Ron Fitze, 68 pins.

Linedancers 477 pins (234 + 243) 0 pts - Jenny Lean, 66 pins. Breakaways 485 pins (240 + 245) 6 pts - Paul England, 90 pins.

Victorians 488 pins (238+ 250) 4 pts - Clive Wilcocks, 65 pins. Bilge Rats 457 pins (205 + 252) 2 pts - Mike Riddiough, 67 pins.
