A KAYAK and all the required accessories for a day of paddling are up for grabs in a silent auction being run by Looe RNLI.
A ladies bike and a man’s bike are also available in the fundraiser, with all proceeds to go towards the running of the town’s lifeboat station.
A spokesperson said: ’While most of the country is in lockdown, our rescue boats are still ready to save more lives, so bid now at www.looelifeboats.co.uk/rnliauction, bag yourself a bargain and support the RNLI through these difficult times.’
Like most charities at the moment, the Looe Lifeboat Station has found that all its usual fundraising efforts have stalled due to the lockdown.
’We need to be more creative,’ said the spokesperson, ’so the offer of a kayak and two bicycles by two of our supporters gave us the opportunity to do just that.
’The silent auction in full swing and the bids are rolling in.’
The auction will end on June 14 at 10pm.
