A WOMAN who bought a sideboard in a charity shop later discovered envelopes and wallets full of old photographs and postcards which had fallen down the back of one of the drawers.
Nichola Cooke, who lives in Plymouth, bought the piece of furniture from the city’s main British Heart Foundation store for £5.
Several weeks later, when she went to paint the sideboard, she came across the photographs which covered from the 1920s up to around the 1970s.
Nichola, 34, reported the find to the charity shop which has been able to trace the owner in Liskeard.
Nicola said this week she was pleased the photographs could now be reunited with their owner.
Wedding and portrait photographs were taken by Jon Wooldridge, whose studio was at 15 Fore Street, Liskeard.
And a pamphlet, listing Mr Wooldridge’s prices in 1958, had been used to contain a wad of small cigarette card-sized photographs.
There was also an envelope containing locks of a child’s curly red hair.
