SHOPKEEPERS in Liskeard last week joined the town’s yarnbombing craze with a series of fun knitted displays.
Woollen books in the bookshop, stitched sea creatures in the fishmongers and a crochet drill in the hardware store are sure to catch the eye of passers-by.
The window displays are all intended to direct attention to Liskeard’s Wool Market, which takes place in the Public Hall this evening (Friday) from 4pm.
New for this year’s market will be a ‘yarn and stuff swap’ and funds will be raised for the mental health charity MIND.
Workshops on a range of craft skills will be then held until October 20: among the skills on offer are weaving without a loom, easy crochet Christmas decorations, button making, and hapazome (Japanese flower pounding).
