A fresh north-eas-terly wind in Looe Bay, along with sunshine and flat water, meant near-maximum boat speeds across the fleet were enjoyed by sailors and spectators.
Des and Florence Hocking, aboard their Redwing Shamrock, are becoming a formidable force and again showed their rivals a clean pair of heels to take the
chequered flag, closely followed by old friend and arch-rival Colin Crabb with crew Adam Hayler.
Team Kinver, Arthur and daughter Tamsyn, also put on a fine boat-handling display to secure third spot.
In the Enterprise race, Gareth Shaw and his fiancee, Verity Pope, broke the Jackman class dominance to record a well-earned first place over this testing but
exhilarating course.
Unluckiest man of the day was Laser helm Richard Vasey; his mast broke, meaning he had to be towed to the safety of the boat park having only completed 100 metres of the race.
