Seven members of the cast of a pantomime in Torpoint performed on their knees throughout the show.

The seven took the parts of the dwarfs in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs which was staged by the Torpoint Ferryboat Entertainers.

Irene Envy, Sue Norman, Karen Crawford, Katie Soderberg, Andrew Envy, Karen Linggard and Gail Palmer each wore long cloaks to disguise the fact they were kneeling on the stage.

And the end result was well worth the effort.

The Ferryboaters secretary, Betty Begbie, said: "It was an excellent show. Everybody was full of praise."

The group, which had been rehearsing for several months, performed to five packed houses at the Town Council Chambers.

The pantomime, written by John Morley, was produced and directed by Liz Cheetham who was assisted by Grace Adamson and Irene Envy.

The role of Snow White was taken by mother-of-three Claire Westall while the dame was Torpoint School teacher Des Franklin.

Another mother-of-three, Christine Palmer, was the prince. Grace Adamson appeared as the evil queen.

Other main characters were played by Judy Hall, Ian Darbyshire, Peter Hume, Rachel Kenhard and Tiny Castle.

The show featured plenty of children including teenage dancers from the Hi-Kix Dance Centre run by Vivien Smith in the Torpoint area.

The cast totalled around 50 and the music was provided by Betty Begbie at the piano and Dave Vanderwolf on the drums. Pauline Smith was in charge of the scenery.
