Liskeard Town Councillors have agreed that their offices in West Street need to have increased protection after Town Clerk Brenda Furse reported on recent breaches of security. In once incident the kitchen was broken into, and crockery and biscuits strewn about, while in another a pole supporting a CCTV camera was damaged. The culprits were said to be young people, and two men who had consumed too much alcohol. The council voted to seek advice from a crime prevention officer, and in the meantime Mrs Furse has been given permission to lock the offices at times when there is no one in the building.
