A club known to its members as ‘the best kept secret in Callington’ is going public for its 30th birthday.

The New Outlook social club meets every Tuesday morning at the town hall, and has around 40 members.

People enjoy meeting friends, hearing guest speakers, and trips to play skittles or bowls and having meals out.

The group always takes part in the Callington Carnival and is planning a summer barbecue to take place soon.

Now members want to let more people ‘in on the secret’, says chairman Shirley Morse. ‘For those in the know, New Outlook has long provided a couple of hours a week in congenial company, with the chance to make new friends,’ she said.

‘The club has long been the best-kept secret in Callington – and after 30 years we’d like to change that!’
