Liskeard-Looe completed part two of a treble of success they are pursuing with a surprisingly comfortable victory in the Lockie Cup final at The Rectory in Plymouth on Wednesday night.
They followed up Saturday's victory in their promotion play-off against Torrington by running in six tries against another Devon side, beating Tavistock 36-0.
It was an impressive last competitive outing before their eagerly-awaited trip to Twickenham for the EDF Energy Junior Vase final against Brighton a week tomorrow.
The rain that had poured down during the Ellis Cup final earlier in the evening halted for the Lions' match, which was an entertaining affair.
It was only marred by a mass brawl three minutes from time, which saw referee Trevor McDonnell send off Tavistock centre Matt Witcher.
Delighted Liskeard-Looe captain Tristan Nicholas said: 'Two out of three completed – just the big one to go.
'We wanted the performance to step up today, and it stepped up a level from how we played on Saturday, so it is all building in the right direction.
'We saw the team they had, and we thought we were going to have a really big contest, but the boys stepped up and we kept possession well.'
That was one of the key differences between the two sides. Liskeard were able to produce multi-phase play and maintain the pressure, while every time Tavistock went beyond a couple of phases, they were turned over or made a bad mistake.
The only downside of the evening for the Lions was an ankle injury for lock Adam Driver, but he is hoping to be fit for Twickenham.
Liskeard-Looe took the lead after ten minutes when a series of drives towards the line were finished off by number eight Ali Hill, with centre Baz Hocking slotting the conversion.
Forced
Full-back Tristan Moon then crossed, only to be called back for a forward pass, but in the next phase of play, Hocking forced his way over for a 12-0 lead.
The impressive Moon almost got over the line again three minutes later, but was stopped just short. However, the ball was recycled and Ali Hill grabbed his second try, with Hocking hitting the upright with the conversion attempt.
Moon eventually got the try his efforts deserved three minutes before the interval when he was put over by Hocking.
Fly-half Marcus Hill – a late replacement for the injured Jamie Robbins – banged over a fine conversion, and even though he missed a penalty in first-half injury time, Liskeard-Looe were virtually out of sight at 24-0 at the break.
The onslaught continued early in the second period, with quick hands along the back line seeing Hocking send lively winger Sam Grant over in the corner.
It was then the turn of replacement Dave Hannah to go on a surging run towards the line, brushing aside a couple of weak tackles to dot down beneath the posts, with Marcus Hill adding the extras for a 36-0 advantage.
The final quarter of the match became a bit of a handful for the referee, and Marcus Hill was yellow carded in the 65th minute for obstruction as Tavistock tried to chase a kick ahead.
However, the punch-up near the end of the game came out of the blue, and even though the referee could have given a host of red cards based on the incident, he only picked out Witcher for an early bath.
There was no ill feeling after the game though, and Nicholas stepped up to loud cheers to receive what he hopes will be the second piece of silverware he will be lifting for Liskeard-Looe in the space of ten days.
