A woman died on Monday evening after being in collision with a car on the outskirts of Torpoint.
Jennifer Lowden, 72, was treated by air ambulance paramedics, but died at the scene.
A social media appeal to find her dog Barney, who ran off from the scene of the accident, has been viewed by thousands and many local people have been involved in the search.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident.
