Ahead of the April re-opening of the Charlestown Shipwreck and Heritage Centre, and in celebration of the port’s rich filming history, there is a call for local archives and film photography to be included in an exhibition of Charlestown filming memorabilia.

Did you photograph Tom Hardy in Taboo or did you capture an image of Matt Smith when he landed his Tardis there in 2011? Maybe you popped down to the port recently to watch Aidan Turner in Poldark or witnessed the final scenes of Alice in Wonderland and the tall ship exiting the port?

If you or anyone you know has a winning image of Charlestown’s rich filming history then the Shipwreck Centre Team would love to hear from you.

’We are sure that there is a wealth of imagery out there that’s probably never been seen and we invite anyone who would like to see their photos become part of this celebratory exhibition to get in touch, said marketing manager Lorna Tremayne, who has provided the first image for the film exhibition walls of Kiefer Sutherland.

’We used to love going down to the port whilst Disney was filming the Three Musketeers back in 1993 and marvel at the transformation of the cottages and harbour. I was delighted to capture this image of Kiefer as he walked up from the harbour set. If you look closely you can see his cigarette box poking out of his musketeer boots!’

Any images that are chosen to be part of the exhibition will be credited to the owner and they will also win a meal for two in the newly refurbished Shipwreck Restaurant.
