REPORTS of seagulls being aggressive and stealing food have led to an appeal from Cornwall Council.

The council is urging the public not to feed gulls and to dispose of rubbish for collection in a bin or seagull-proof sack, and to dispose of litter carefully.

‘We can all play a part in helping to curb this problem,’ said Councillor Geoff Brown.

‘At this time of year, herring gulls are feeding and protecting their young and will aggressively seek out food by any means possible.’
