Schoolchildren and work colleagues around South East Cornwall will be wearing spots, baking cakes and joining in with all sorts of sponsored activities as the BBC stages its annual Children in Need day tomorrow.

In Torpoint, children at the town’s Nursery and Infant School will be completing a one-mile walk in circuits around the school playground. For each lap completed the children will receive a spot painted on their face.

’We will then add up the total miles we have travelled and chart how far up the country we have walked together,’ said the school.

’The children will send a letter to the school nearest to the destination we have reached, letting them know we have walked such a great distance by getting active for Children in Need!’

The BBC’s Appeal Show night will be broadcast live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 7pm tomorrow evening.
