A Saltash schoolgirl has made a big gesture to help others less fortunate than herself.

Eight-year-old Maya Douglas, a pupil at Bishop Cornish Primary School, stood in front of the entire school when having more than a foot of her hair cut off in support of Syrian children in crisis.
