Only a month into its new life as a specialist school but already changes at Satlash School and Community College are coming thick and fast. The school has recently become the custodian of part of the teaching collection of Camborne School of Mines: this important collection of minerals, rocks and fossils is sure to prove a boon to pupils and teachers working on Earth Sciences at KS3 & 4 and will form an integral element in the teaching of Geology at A level. As the school develops its Earth Science Centre and further expands its community provision, the aim will be to loan parts of the collection to local schools to ensure exciting "hands on" experience. Already Camelford Comprehensive has taken advantage of this fascinating opportunity.
