Community Health Around Torpoint (CHAT) held a ‘schmoozing lunch’ giving people the opportunity to network over lunch provided by the Pirates Galley.

Thirty people attended, the maximum number permitted for the room, from organisations including Torpoint Allotments, Torpoint WI, Churches Together and Neighbourhood Watch to agencies including Volunteer Cornwall, AddAction and CCVS.

The aim of the event was to improve communication and network.

Paul Smythe, Torpoint Community Hub manager said: ’This event is a great example of a community working together to make things better.’

Becky Lingard, CHAT Community Development Manager said: ’CHAT is trying very hard to improve communication. The bi-annual CHAT directory is being produced and will have a ’What’s On guide’ inside this time. We also have our community noticeboards in CHATLINK and in the CHAT Community Shop’.

A second schmoozing lunch will be organised for June and anyone interested should contact Becky on [email protected] or 07837551828.
