A MAJOR tree planting scheme in Cornwall and Devon has been masterminded by a Stoke Climsland based charity. The Silvanus Trust will have a hand in planting 2,882 trees between the end of this week and the end of February next year in 43 different locations. All the trees have been donated by Western Power Distribution as part of the Our Trees programme run by Silvanus. Much of the planting will be done by Silvanus partners including local communities and schools, as well as BTCV and the Tree Council. The Trust's trainees are doing some planting at two schools, a church, cemetery and a field in the Francis Drake village of Buckland Monachorum. Among the recipients of the trees is Braddock Primary School. The school is to have a selection of trees planted in their new school grounds including Oak, Holly, Willow, Ash, Rowan and Whitebeam.
