The Tamar Bridge will be closed overnight from l0pm on the next five Saturdays – between November l3 and December 11 – re-opening at 6am on the following Sunday mornings.

The closures will allow work to continue on strengthening and widening of Bridge. During this month four temporary steel frames will be lifted by crane to the top of the two main towers, these needed for installation of additional cables. In December new cantilever deck sections will be installed on the approach spans of the bridge.

During the closures traffic will be diverted via Gunnislake and the Torpoint ferry, which will run a free ferry service. Pedestrians and cyclists will be able to use a free pedestrian ferry service being provided by the Tamar Bridge project team. This will operate between the old ferry slipways in St Budeaux and Saltash.
