The August Bank Holiday weekend produced ideal sailing conditions in Looe Bay, with flat water and a brisk offshore breeze. Race officer Brian Carvey said it was a real duel in the sun as five Enterprise crews competed for podium places.

Steve Sargent and crew Callum Dingle chose the right course to sail to victory, with the Jackman brothers, Dave and Chris, hot on their heels but having to settle for second spot. Another Jackman sibling, Tim, with rookie crew Kate Harrison, did their utmost, by splitting tacks up the last beat to take third.

After a barren spell, the Godfather of the Redwing fleet, Colin Crabb, with young Adam Hayler crewing, regained their form to take the day's honours – a success which was duly celebrated in the clubhouse bar later in the day.
