SANTA will be in town again tomorrow (Saturday) in Liskeard thanks to a little hep from the Town Traders - and youngsters are being encouraged to look out for him between 2-4pm as families do their Christmas shopping. He'll also be greeting youngsters in the town centre on Saturday December 18, and every child will receive a small gift.
Meanwhile the Town Council is supporting its independent traders this month with some free seasonal promotion.
The council is encouraging local businesses to promote their festive offers and share the information with other traders and the general public via the Town Council, Visit Liskeard and Your Liskeard website and social media platforms, using the hashtags #LiskeardChristmas and #NadelikLyskerrys
“By tagging @LiskeardTIC if you are holding an event, your event will then be added to the Visit Liskeard website What’s On calendar,” said a spokesperson for the Council. “If you need to get in touch just email [email protected] It’s free, so let us help you make this Liskeard Christmas the best ever for you and your customers.”
Looking ahead to 2022, the Council says it plans to join the ‘Fiver Fest’ scheme, whereby shoppers are encouraged to spend £5 on special offers in local businesses.
Last year’s national ‘Totally Locally £5’ campaign demonstrated the impact that could be made by people spending a regular amount of money with their local independent traders.
