FAMILIES are being encouraged to limber up and sign up for a fun filled ‘Santa vs Rudolph’ run at the National Trust’s Lanhydrock Estate.

The new event on Sunday December 10 is being organised by the Liskeard branch of the British Heart Foundation, with support from Personal Best Running at Carlyon Bay in St Austell. Proceeds will go towards vital research into heart disease.

The 2.7 mile multi-terrain run around the grounds of Lanydrock will be fun for all ages, says the BHF, and Santa suits will be provided free to all entrants.

With a registration fee of just £12, children under 16 go free - but must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Dogs on leads are also welcome to join in and will love the chase as Santa competes with Rudolph to be first around the course.

Participants should register from 9.30am near the cafe, with the run to set off from in front of Lanhydrock House at 10.30am.
