The event, organised by Liskeard Chamber of Commerce, will include input from a wide range of shops in town who have organised promotions especially for the occasion.
There will also be free parking, street entertainment such as unicyclists, jugglers and live bands in a bid to make it a great day out for both families and children, anxious to finish off their Christmas shopping with some days to spare.
The fun day has been arranged in lieu of late night shopping, which has not always proved to be highly successful in Liskeard.
Cartoon characters will also be in the streets, adding further entertainment to the occasion, and the live music will come from groups such as the Staggered Pump Band, and Liskeard's own Silver Band.
Father Christmas will arrive, weather permitting, by helicopter which will land in the junior school playing field in Old Road, at noon. From there he will journey, by sleigh and then by foot, to a grotto in Formative Fun in Fore Street.
Staff at The Cornish Times offices will be among the many from Liskeard businesses taking part. Details of the event are currently outlined on the Chamber of Commerce's website, http://www.liskeard.com">www.liskeard.com
Chamber vice chairman, David Hambly, who runs a photographic shop in town, said it is hoped as many shoppers as possible will choose Liskeard above Plymouth or Truro etc on Saturday.
