SALTASH Town Council, along with the Rotary Club of Saltash, is calling for nominations of candidates for its annual Citizen Awards.

Nominees are sought for the 2022-23 Saltash Citizen Award, Saltash Environmental Citizen Award and Saltash Young Citizen Award, with the names of candidates needing to be received by the middle of March.

A spokesperson said: “Each year Saltash Town Council, in conjunction with the Rotary Club, select a Saltash resident to receive the Saltash Citizen Award. This is a prestigious award which goes to a person who has served their community in some special way. It could be an outstanding one-off contribution to the well-being of the town, or consideration will also be given to a person who has given a period of service to the town, not just in the prior year.”

Since 2017, a Saltash Environmental and Community Award has also been made to an individual or group that has made an appropriate contribution to the well-being of the town.

There is also a similar award for the Young Citizen, who should be under the age of 21 and living in Saltash, plus an award for the Best Performance of the Year.

The person or persons nominated must still be active and cannot be an employee or member of Saltash Town Council. Nominations for the 2022-23 awards are now being requested and each recommendation should be accompanied by a note specifying the reasons for the suggestion and contact details.

Nominations should be sent to: Acting Town Clerk, Saltash Town Council, The Guildhall, 12 Lower Fore Street, Saltash PL12 6JX or by email to [email protected] by Friday, March 18, 2022.
