Comedy from players
THE latest play from the Saltash Anglican Methodist Players comes to the St Nicholas and St Faith Church Rooms, Saltash later this month.
Called 'Clerical Errors,' the comedy tells the story of the Briggs family who have been evicted from their home and taken residence in the disused Methodist Chapel.
The play runs from Wednesday May 29 to Saturday June 1, starting at 7.30pm. Tickets, costing £5, are available from Piglets in Fore Street and all proceeds go towards Derriford Hospital's Chestnut Appeal in aid of Prostate Cancer.
\Family donates picture
THE Maurice Huggins Room has held its AGM. At the meeting Mona Tomaszewska-Honywill accepted a picture for the room given in memory of the late Roy Morgan who was a regular visitor to the room.
Attending the ceremony were his sister, Mrs Waterworth, his daughter Elizabeth Taylor and granddaughter Natasha Taylor. After the presentation a talk was given by Cornwall County Fire Safety Officer Ian Phillips.
The following were re-elected: Chairman Mona Tomaszewska-Honywill, Secretary Margaret Gwynn, Treasurer Hazel Greaves, Committee Mesdames B. Hodge, J. Buckingham, J. Hearn, D. Archer and H. Yeo.
Leos celebrate birthday
SALTASH Leos held their Charter night at the Working Mens Club, celebrating their third birthday.
Leo President Karla Biddick welcomed Lion's District Governor Derek Laycock and his wife Margaret Laycock, District Leo Officer Lion David Rosson, Lion President Bob Payne and his wife. A disco was provided by Shane and the Varity Stars Roadshow. Members enjoyed a pasty supper and a birthday cake.
