Life skills

at Saltash

AN exhibition at Saltash Guildhall provided information on a range of subjects for the over 60s.

This was the first time the event had been held in Saltash and advice was given on safety in the home by 18 organisations, including the fire brigade, police, St John Ambulance, Age Concern and WRVS.

Pupils take to catwalk

A FASHION show was held to raise funds for St Germans School, with pupils walking the catwalk as models.

Also helping out as models for the show, presented by Mackays of Liskeard, were some ex-pupils, younger brothers or sisters, and some mothers.

The chairperson of the Friends of St Germans School, Emma Eastment, said the children behaved excellently throughout, and maybe a few budding supermodels were discovered on the day. She added: 'The youngest children were brilliant - they were Luke Kowalski aged l8 months, Jason Blake aged two and Jack Eastment aged three.'

During the interval the audience were served with wine and nibbles. The school raised £180 from ticket sales. Emma added that she would like to thank Caroline Hadley, manager of Mackays, and her staff who volunteered their time to put on the autumn/winter wear show, and Mrs C McGlinchy, head teacher, for the use of the school hall.
