SALTASH Comprehensive School, now known as Saltash Community School, held a reunion on Saturday evening at the school hall - with around 200 attending and recalling schooldays.
The reunion was for those pupils who left in l981, l982 and l983, and some travelled a fair distance to attend, Rachael Jones making the journey from Spain, and Andrew Egeuneke from London.
This, the first such event for ten years, was organised by Kaye Bonner, Sarah George, Liz Fedrick, Sarahjane Pendered and Alison Walsh. Music for the disco was provided by Neil Gray and Five Star Disco.
Friends of the present school, Kathy Lyne and her team, organised refreshments. Proceeds of the evening will be divided between Friends of the School funds, and current pupil Sarah Louise Weeks who is suffering from MS and is hoping to go on a trip to Euro-Disney near Paris.
Teacher Bill Ryan also attended the celebrations on Saturday evening, the fun going on from 7pm to midnight.

RNLI coffee
morning
A SUCCESSFUL coffee morning was organised by the Saltash RNLI Committee on Saturday at the home of Mr and Mrs Spiller.
A total of £163 was raised for the RNLI.
The next event will be an evening wear fashion show at Saltash Sailing Club on Monday, September 17.
Police choirs
at Wesley
THE Exeter and Torbay Police Choirs will be appearing at Saltash Wesley Church on November l at 7.30pm.
Harvest
festival
THE harvest festival at St Nicholas and St Faith's Church, Saltash, is to be held on September 30.
There will be a harvest luncheon following the l0am parish communion service.

show
SALTASH Floral Art and Design Club are presenting their 'Season's Greetings' show on Sunday, November 3. Entrance to the show, in the Wesley church hall, will be 50p with doors opening at 12.30pm.
Masters sprint success
THE Caradon Masters sprint meet proved so successful when held at Saltash Leisure Centre last year, that it was repeated on Saturday.
Competitors attended from as far afield as Wakefield, Eastbourne and Basingstoke, as well as nearer to home in Devon and Cornwall. Over 120 took part in the evening of races which included backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, freestyle and medley relays for men and women.
Saltash mayor Eve Storey and her husband and consort Jim watched the evening's races.
The event was organised by David and Sue Smith, and the promoter's representative was Chris Eliott. Referees were Lynne Elliott, and Dave Forward. Judges for the event were Maureen Davies, John Varker, Kathy Radcliffe, Sally Webb and Harold Richards.
Timekeepers were Pat Parritt and Bill Clements with the assistance of several other timekeepers. Graham Cooke was the announcer.
The winners were: Overall - Dawlish and Teignmouth. Male competition - Dawlish and Teignmouth. Ladies' competition - Wadebridge.
A buffet supper ended the event.
