Success for Heritage Trail
SALTASH Partnership have been awarded a grant of £1,688 by the National Lottery 'Awards for All' fund, to help in the progress of Saltash heritage trail.
The money has been awarded to help produce activity sheets for children. The sheets will include puzzles and word searches, along with questions on points of interest that can be found along the trail.
Cllr Joyce Mepsted, who is also a member of Saltash Partnership said, 'This is a wonderful opportunity to attract families, clubs and school visits. The Heritage trail provides a diversity of interest and appreciation of the history, architecture and environment within this unique conservation area of Saltash, including the town centre and waterside.'
It is hoped that the sheets will be available from Easter this year.

Two flags fly
on Thinking Day
AS it was uncertain whether Saltash Guildhall flagpole would be ready for the World Guide flag to be hoisted on Thinking Day (February 22), permission was given for the flag to be flown from St Stephen's church instead.
However, the Guildhall flagpole was ready in time and district commissioner, Pam Potterton, hoisted the flag at 8am - and at 9am joined several Guides and Brownies to see the ceremony run through again, with a different flag, at St Stephen's. Two Brownies, two Guide leaders and one Trefoil Guild member climbed the tower where the vicar, Rev Alan Butler, assisted by the leaders, carried out the hoisting honours.
