Mobile Post Office to visit Cargreen
POST Office customers in Cargreen, Saltash will still have the opportunity to use a local post office despite the closure of their own Post Office after a close of business on Tuesday.
From next Tuesday February 13, the mobile post office will visit Cargreen every Tuesday from 2 pm to 2. 45 pm. The service will be available opposite the existing shop.
Meanwhile, Post Office Network is continuing the search for a new sub postmaster to take on the running of a permanent Post Office in the community after Mrs Alice Rutherford has resigned at the age of 83, after running Cargreen Post Office for over 42 years.
Lute played
in the library
DENYS Stephens was the guest artist at a Saltash library concert on February 3, playing music on the lute from the Italian Renaissance from the early sixteenth century.
He was later joined by Ben Salfield on the lute for a selection of duets.
The next concert will be on March 3 at 2pm, when music for the guitar and balalaika will be played by Jonathon Xavier Coudrille and John Holden.
First aid
sessions
THE St John Ambulance in Saltash are to run a first aid course for the public, teaching first aid skills and lasting for 14 sessions.
The course, which started on February 7, is being held at St John Ambulance headquarters, starting at 7.30pm.
The course, which will cost £2 per session, will include unconsciousness, heart attack, bleeding and burns, how to treat babies, children, injuries to bones, joints and muscles and other topics.

Candidate visits
St Barnabas
THE prospective parliamentary Conservative candidate for South East Cornwall, Ashley Gray, visited St Barnabas hospital, Saltash, and talked to patients, staff, and members of the League of Friends of the Hospital. Mona Tomaszewska-Honywill, chairman of the League of Friends of the Hospital, told Mr Gray £415,000 had been raised for the hospital in the 37 years of the League's existence. Their most recent project is a defibrillator costing £3,500.
Project's call
for volunteers
THE Livewire Youth Project in Saltash, which is involved in a number of ongoing schemes to help the young people of the town and the surrounding area, need more volunteers to help run their various activities.
Anyone interested in helping out should contact Andy or Yvonne on 01752 843570. The Project's annual meeting will be held at The Waterside, Saltash on February 6 at 7.30pm with all welcome to attend. There will be refreshments and demonstrations at the end of the meeting.
