Saltash Pigeons - Race starts in Blandford
Last weekend, the Saltash Pigeons were racing from Blandford. Due to rain, a low cloud the bird were held until 1.00 pm last Sunday, with a southerly and a touch of easterly wind. Winning his first ever young bird race was club's chairman Mr Peter Broyd whose young bird arrived home at 15:08:47 recording an average velocity of 1370.705 yards per minute, just over 46 mph. Seven member sent 110 birds to the 100 mile race and returns were generally good.
