LOOE Sailing Club's annual dinner and dance at the Hannafore Point Hotel was the best attended for several years with 150 members enjoying a superb evening. Vice Commodore Brian Carvey announced the winners of the annual trophies and invited Craig and Pat Rich, making a welcome return visit to Looe, to present them. Thanks were extended to Bridget Crabb for organising the evening. Trophy winners were: Most wins Cup, Ben and John Crabb (Redwings), Steve Sargent and Toby Bray (RS 400); Crews Cup, Shane Bickle (Mirror), John Crabb (Redwing), Toby Bray (RS 400); Corinthian Cup for Lady Helm (Lisa Marshall); Capsize Trophy (Geoff Godbolt R183); Big Foot Trophy for damage during the year (Jake Gavin); Sailors' Sailor voted for by all sailing members (Geoff Godbolt); Bill Matty Trophy for most improved sailor (Rob Dewe); Fisherman's Trophy (Ben and John Crabb). Overall Points Series Winners: Mirror (Lisa Marshall and Fiona Rowe), Redwing (Ben and John Crabb), RS 400 (Steve Sargent and Toby Bray); Jack Sargent Trophy for endeavour (Paul Sedgbeer); David Pengelly Trophy (Geoff Godbolt).
