Affectionately dubbed 'the real beast of Cornwall', the Launceston Half-Marathon took place for the last time on Sunday, attracting more than 300 entries for the main event, as well as 200 in the family fun-run.

It has undoubtedly been one of the toughest half-marathons in the South West, earning its moniker from a 100-metre ascent in the last two miles up Kensey Hill and along the Tavistock Road before finishing near the top of the park,
