Sammy Mugford for Albany and Nigel Owen for Saltash both missed early penalty chances before Saltash put a stranglehold on things up front.
Back row Peter Congo celebrated his new year with a try hat-trick, two at the start and one at the finish. Steve Hall was driven over for a try minutes into the second half, and there was a penalty try before scrum half, and there was a penalty try before scrum half Rob Bewes got the downward pressure after an unbelievably huge 40 metre scrum carried Saltash over the line.
