The visitors got off to a dream start with outside centre Steve Aris touching down for Brian Sanderson to convert inside the first minute. Nigel Owen reduced the arrears with a penalty and Hamish Gallagher crossed on the right for a debut try in his first senior appearance to edge Saltash ahead.
A penalty from Sanderson immediately in front of the break gave the Rockies a two point half time lead. But they felt the full backlash of the Ashes surprise defeat at Wadebridge last Saturday as Saltash went to town after the restart.
Rob Bewes crossed from the back of a forty metre forward drive. Hooker James Woodward shot over on the blind side of a rolling maul. Peter Congo ran in from the twenty-two and Simon Watson finished off a threequarter move for the Saltash tries. Owen added three conversion and a penalty.
