With little to choose between either side throughout. Saltash twice came from behind in a close run, nip and tuck affair at Ponsmere Valley. A handling move on the quarter hour ended with Ben Jones diving over in the corner after outside half John Mansfield had put Perranporth ahead with a tenth minute penalty, only for Simon Wilkin to side-step through and dot down to make it 8-5 to the Brewers at the break.

Saltash clawed their way back in front on the hour after a long range touch-finder from Nigel Owen was helped into touch by a Perranporth boot almost on their own line, and James Woodward got the downward pressure as Saltash drove over from the resultant lineout. Anthony Rugby added the extras and Owen dropped a 30 yard goal 10 minutes from time to make the result safe.

The semi-final of this year's competition is being on an experimental home and away basis which sees Perranporth at Saltash in the return leg on April 1st, but not until both sides meet an Ponsmere Valley again tomorrow (March 25th) in a scheduled Cornwall Division One fixture.
