Four primary schools in South East Cornwall have been judged as providing outstanding care, education or skills and are among just 13 across Cornwall identified in the Annual Report of Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Education, Children's Services and Skills.
For the Bishop Cornish C of E VA Primary School in Saltash it is the second time on the list, along with Truro Nursery School having also been judged to be outstanding in a previous inspection.
St Mellion C of E VA School in Saltash, which is now in the county's top 13, had previously been judged as inadequate and placed in serious weaknesses. Darite Primary School and Menheniot Primary School are also on the list for the first time.
Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Education, Children's Services and Skills, Christine Gilbert, said: 'It's encouraging to see so much outstanding provision across all areas of education and care and I pay tribute to all who contributed to this success.'
