A HI-VIS vest was the appropriate gift as Lostwithiel Rotary Club welcomed its second ever female member.

Jacquie Martin was formally inducted into the club by president Clive Littleton and Geoff Phipps.

Jacquie grew up in Herodsfoot and after spending most of her working life as a nurse in London, she chose to return to Cornwall to retire.

Along with the fluorescent jacket, Jacquie was presented with tickets for the upcoming duck race to sell.

‘There’s nothing like starting as you mean to go on!’ said club member Denis Mitchell.

‘We are more than pleased to have Jacquie on board.’
