FROM one of the oldest families in Looe come I, a fact that cannot be denied.

Now having reached the age of 81, but nonetheless still feeling young, I'm asking a question why, when I take to the street, it's mostly strangers that I meet.

Am I now a stranger too in this my home town of Looe? Whatever happened to the Looe that once I knew? Holiday time it is no longer mine. A place to park I cannot find, no matter the day or time of day, blue badges are everywhere on display.

And no one seems to care.

Huge lorries are a constant worry, just too bad if I be in a hurry.

Why are they not made to offload, instead of coming here to block our roads?

Pavements are no longer ours to stroll along.

Roll on winter time when Looe will be, again, briefly mine.
