The main route through Bodmin is set to be re-opened today in time for the Royal Cornwall Show (June 8-10) at the Wadebridge showground.
The contractor undertaking the current road improvement scheme in the town, Cormac, has confirmed the route that will take traffic through the town is set to be opened, provided there are no last minute delays due to weather, this evening (June 7).
Heavy goods vehicle and coaches heading to Wadebridge should continue follow the signed route along the A30 to the A39 before and during the show.
Christopher Riddle, secretary of the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association said: ‘The show is Cornwall’s largest annual event and with around 120,000 people expected to attend over the three days this will help ease the increased traffic that is inevitably generated. Many visitors will of course also use the normal routes via Camelford, depending on where they are travelling from.’
