A?road linking two Rame Peninsula villages is to be closed for nearly a week, with diversions in place, while highways contractors carry out safety checks.

Part of New Road, between the villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, is set to be closed to traffic for five days next month while CORMAC carries out investigation work on a retaining wall.

The 24 hours a day closure is scheduled to be in force from Monday, September 25, to Friday, September 29.

A diversion will be in place using Forder Lane and Hatt Lane.
