A NUMBER of problems with roads and footpaths around Lostwithiel have been brought to the attention of Cornwall Highways by the town clerk on instructions from the town council. These included: a hole in the road surface at Church Lane; deep potholes between Hillhead and Sweetshouse, including near to the entrance to Barngate; the Monmouth Square and Fore Street pavements are in a poor state of repair with trip hazards; Meadow Breeze is covered in moss; Quay Street has potholes and the road surface is starting to break up; a tidal road sign needs to be placed under the bridge at the bottom of Coulson Park; there is dangerous parking in Grenville Road close to the station; and many road markings, yellow lines and zigzag lines have worn so badly in various locations that they have virtually disappeared. The clerk has asked to meet with a representative from Highways and walk around the town with them to highlight the issues raised. PCSO Phillips is also to be informed of dangerous and illegal parking issues in the town.
