The husband of a community woman with a 'heart of gold', who died after falling into a swollen river, has paid a loving tribute to her. Paula Deacon, 57, fell into the River Seaton in Hessenford on Saturday night, near the footbridge outside The Copley Arms. Eye-witnesses report she slipped, in what has been described as a tragic accident, as her husband Rod, 59, briefly returned to the pub.
