Cornwall Solo Grass Track Club held a successful and well-attended first meeting

under the club's new format on Sunday on a track which clearly benefited from the many hours of hard work put in by club members during recent weeks.

Jason Prynne claimed the big Solo prize of the day, winning the Open final ahead of top points qualifier Tom Perry, who took second after missing the start in the final.

Plymouth Devils Speedway promoter Mike Bowden claimed the Pre-75/Uprights Class ahead of Gerry Smith in second spot.

Ben Masters took the one-off Invitation race, finishing ahead of Stephan Maunder in second, Keith Snelling third, Ryan Julian fourth, Richard Cooper fifth and Chris Lambert sixth.

The sidecar heats saw Richard Thomas and Jason Barry tie with Phil Syms and Gareth Bemister on 24 points at the top of the standings.

Thomas was unable to take his place in the final however due to a misfire. Syms and Bemister claimed the big prize ahead of Alfie Pearn and Danial Weetman.

The youth classes were all won by riders unbeaten on the day.

Henry Atkins topped the Auto Cadets ahead of Anders Rowe and Mary Gribble, Jack Dummett took the Cadets ahead of Callan Phillips, James Shanes was top of the Juniors ahead of Keiron Hicks, and Josh Dingle claimed the Inters in front of Nathan Stoneman and Tyler Govier.
